Lythe Hill Hotel raises over £3,000 for Stepping Stones School
Lythe Hill Hotel staff and guests have raised money for Stepping Stones School, with charitable events throughout the year, primarily at the Christmas Market and at the Haslemere Hounds event. In total they raised £3,257.95.
Lythe Hill Hotel have been committed to raising as much money as possible for Stepping Stones School in Hindhead and have high hopes for greater involvement moving forward.
Stepping Stones School was founded in 1994 by two parents who wanted to provide an education for their daughter, the school opened with just three pupils and since then the school has grown and developed with their students at the core of everything they do.
The school provides education and care for 95 young people, aged 7 to 19 years old, who are affected by neurodevelopmental disorders with the objective for their students to embrace a positive school environment and to become self-confident, independent learners for life. The school also ensures their students fulfil their personal potential to gain the qualifications and skills they need to be both socially and economically independent in their local community.
The school and its students are an inspiration to the community and important to both staff and guests at Lythe Hill Hotel.
Matthew Davies, General Manager at Lythe Hill Hotel said: “It is both a pleasure and honour for us at Lythe Hill to be associated with Stepping Stones School. The work they do with children and young adults is both inspiring and humbling, and it is a joy to be involved with. We hope that the money raised from the generosity of our local community and well as our members and guests help in some way and I look forward to working even closer in 2020.”
The money that Lythe Hill Hotel raised is available to go towards anything the school needs to help with their mission. Emma Crabb, Business Manager at Stepping Stones School, says “We are incredibly grateful that Lythe Hill Hotel has selected Stepping Stones School to benefit from all their fundraising activities. Corporate supporters are vital in helping us fund all the extras that our students need. It’s a great partnership!”.
Lythe Hill Hotel is now beginning a programme with Stepping Stones School, by giving students opportunities to gain work experience across the hotel, gaining valuable skills within the hospitality industry.
