Stepping stones has a full time occupational therapist.
Occupational therapy programmes include work on fine and gross motor skills through individual and group sessions. Students are supported in the classroom to develop independent learning skills, working memory and visual perceptual skills, as well as looking at positioning in the classroom, recording work and ICT access.
We also work on functional independence skills, such as telling the time and money management, domestic skills and community skills.
Sensory Integration OT
The school contracts a day a week from the Sensory Integration Occupational Therapy from The lighthouse Clinic in Farnham. We work with 2 Sensory Integration trained therapists who carry out Sensory Integration assessments and deliver small group and individual sessions to students, including working on the ‘Zones of Regulation’ programme. The therapists set up sensory circuits which are followed daily by all students at the lower school.
