Opening of Undershaw
On the 5th of September the school started term on two sites for the first time. Our Lower School remains at Tower Road with our Upper School and Post 16 provision based at the new Undershaw site.
The new site was officially opened on the 9th September with unveiling of a Blue Plaque to record the historical significance of the building as the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and an opening ceremony with Jeremy Hunt.

The building has been fully renovated by the DFN Foundation over the last 2 years from a state of almost complete disrepair to a state-of-the-art school:
Conan Doyle's great nephew spoke at the unveiling of the plaque remembering his 'great uncle Arthur' and expressing his feelings that he would have been very proud to have seen Undershaw put to such good use.
On the day the school enjoyed workshops with the Globe Theatre, visitors were taken on tours of the school by students who explained the history of the building and all guests enjoyed a party through the evening.
