On Friday 7th September 2018 we held our annual Founders' Day event and celebrated fourteen years of Stepping Stones School. The whole school was joined by local supporters, alumni, parents and governors.
Local athlete, Spike Hughes, also joined us on the day to present awards to our students. Spike was a bronze medalist at the 2017 Invictus game in Montreal. He gave an inspiring speech to our young people about overcoming physical and emotional barriers.
Former student, Amie, was also able to share her story and some of the challenges that she has successfully overcome during her educational journey. Amie has recently achieved a first class honours degree from the University of Kent and credits Stepping Stones for preparing her for life beyond Stepping Stones.
On the day students received awards for a variety of achievements and endeavours including 'Resilience' and 'Independence'. This was also an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the recent exam results. During the event the guests were entertained by some of our talented musicians.
